Liberals and Conservatives and Democrats oh my...
All Canadians should be saddened by the loss of the democratic process in this country. Mr. Harper had no business approaching David Emerson with the intent to lure him into a very well paid post. While it was wrong to entice Mr. Emerson, I get the feeling that David had been approached before the election day. Yes, it is just my opinion, but I think that promising to be a thorn in the side of the opposition and then a week or so later taking a cabinet position as one of the “enemy” smells like bullshit. He must have this planned out in advance. And that is what makes this so wrong. He was voted in as a Liberal. His constituents fought for him.
If I were in charge, David Emerson would be fired and charged with election fraud. Our new Prime Minister should also face the heat. Laws NEED to be put in place so that this does not happen again.
